Fun with Cookies

I'm wrapped up in all the holiday festivities this week. Christmas seems to come earlier and earlier. Heh, or maybe I'm just getting older.

The snow storm today gave me the perfect excuse to use my day off and finish the cookies that I started making last week.I have carried on the tradition of baking cookies and bringing them to the annual family Christmas party, which this year is at my oldest brother's home in New Hampshire on Sunday. Last week I baked all the cookies, so today I could frost and decorate them.

It's quite the procedure and one that takes a lot of patience to complete. MP thinks that the time spent doing it doesn't really seem worth it. Although I understand where she's coming from, because it does take forever, I like continuing something that my mother started when she was a young mom.I also like the process of baking and decorating.

Do you make cookies?

This year we've been buy baking biscotti. In years past we've made my mom's spritz recipe and fudge. We decided to try various types of biscotti this year. We just sent a batch off to our daughter and Fran's mom.

Was the biscotti difficult to make? You have to double bake them, right?

Beautiful cookies, Clammy.
I make this kind too because that is the only "Christmas cookie" my mother made and I like keeping the tradition going also.
Have a happy Christmas!
